Why won't Republican's Just Give Obama A Chance?

I'm an independent and never voted for Bush but the more I listen to and read about Obama, the more I tend to think of him as a socialist. The same with Pelosi and Reid. I think the whole democratic party has lost their desire to help the working person in favor of helping the nonworking person. Redistribution of wealth is socialist terminology. Why are the using it? I think they are telling us outright that a vote for Obama is a vote for a socialist government. I would add to that, when he is asked that question, he does not deny it.
