Japan's Earthquake Alerts Earth Axis- Is 2012 predictions closer.?

This morning's edition of the New York Times, has a story stating that the earthquake in Japan has altered the earths axis. Is'nt this what 2012 theorist have been predicting from the start? The story is a headline by Kenneth Chang (www.newyorktimes.com)- What do you think.? Could a few more earthquakes actually tilt the earth?
