Do you know the meaning of "perky riffs","heem of love","Anodized",in the following paragraph?

A "perky riff" would be a lively bit of jazz, here presented as pleasant but not profound. "Anodized" is a metal-plating process that involves an electrically-charged solution, and here it presumably indicates that the "ole tune" has a highly-charged quality to it, along with its being gritty and yearning. "Deathly heem of love" would seem to suggest a strongly affecting quality of love, lust, or . But this isn't particularly interesting. Sounds like the author doesn't have a good command of the language, and is trying WAY too hard to impress the reader.
